Luckily for me my fingers weren't in the way or I would've got burnt bad. For those who haven't opened lithium shells (plastic around the cells) be very careful.

This is where other skills come in handy. Like wood working or having access to a 3D printer to make the microphone, lamp or cameras less cobbled together. In fact I like the idea of repurposing the cameras if they could be used outside. That way I could watch the wildlife without sitting in the cold or wet weather or better yet if they work in very low light I could watch the deer in my yard at night. Given the power and abilities of something like a Raspberry Pi I think making a media center would be easier and smaller that way. I've even been trying to decide on a plan so I could have a jukebox using one.

They are seldom used and I often get asked why I keep them around but in my Command Center I have all sorts of things people will someday wish they had because newer does not always equate better.

14:08 Checking the voltage of an unloaded battery is pointless and gives you useless information. You need to put at least 50mA or so load on it, to drain off any ionic charge buildup. That charge buildup causes false and misleading readings when improperly checking a battery. The battery could also have high internal resistance, which is not visible when trickling current into a high impedance DMM. A 68 ohm resistor would be about right, it would draw about 44mA and dissipate about 145mW, a bit over over 1/8W. Use a 1/4W or larger, 1/8W will heat up rapidly. Put the resistor across the battery, in parallel with the DMM probes.
