From my information the market crash in 2008 your government saved the biiiig boys, but all the people that lost their homes in the proces - what happened to them? In the country I come from we pay 40%-60% tax, but we actually have system that help people - maybe you should consider that for your country. Maybe your superrich pay more tax, but the poorest in your country would suddenly have free doctors, secure home, help in substance-abuse etc. / Again thanks for a great show. Peace.

Great conversation until Mathew said that most homeless people need to be rehabilitated (addictions and or mental illness). Maybe he needs to go out and talk to these folks and he'll find out that like cops who are under great stress... imagine the stress of being homeless. What is also needed is affordable housing. Many of these folks have full-time jobs. Families! People who are working damn hard and still cannot afford housing. The rich get richer and too often turn a blind eye to the needs of others. Most important ->Our communities desperately need safe, quality, and affordable housing and , yes, services and programs to help people heal addictions and treat mental illness, etc. Oh, and police desperately need to be trained in using soft skills for working with the mentally ill, or better yet, have specific police or care-givers/problem solvers who are trained to help in these situations, rather than brute force policing.... treating all mentally ill folks like criminals. The tents in venice is not the average homeless, as the majority of people there, is in fact refuges from the middeleast. We get far more refuges, from these wars than you, and we have a problem going forward with that. Not that were not able to help, but the speed and amount of people going into Europe, is not an easy thing to work out. So in Southern Europe right now, you have all these places without any law, and with people living in tents, in the middle of the winter. We can do better! I mean, they come in from the sea too Greece, and then go up south, and many ends up in these camps, because the government can handle the amount and speed. That's a real problem, right there. Also we see the dividing gets more and more, and i tell u....with all these terror attacks on European city, people are afraid and many feed up with that fact, that it seems our law enforcements cannot guarantee our safety and freedom.
